There’s just something about Balboa Island – the stunning water front, the famous frozen banana stands, the quaint cottage homes. This island community in Newport Beach transcends all visitors, from Orange County natives to tourists, to a stress-free California mindset, and its quintessential landscape and charm never ceases to amaze me every time I visit. Strolling the waterfront on an overcast spring morning, I found the simple beauty of the duffy boats, sailboats, canoes, and kayaks that lined the sand. This picture-perfect community makes me question why I ever left California…? But don’t worry, Texas, I still love you!
